Default 5 strayed WWI pictures 5th C.G.R.

This morning I have salvaged five original pictures from a European fleamarket.

picture 1: August 1917, on my way from Qualicum Beach to Victoria (w 5.5 x h 10 cm)
picture 2: October 1917, Seattle (7.6 x 5.3 cm)
picture 3: 15th November 1918, St. Jonis Camp Quebec 5th C G R (7.1 x 11.5 cm) <i.e. St. John's Camp>
Picture 4: 3th July 1919, Rhuddlan Castle picnic (6.2 x 6.2 negative print)
picture 5: <no text> (7.2 x 10.3 cm)
I have zoomed in on the people and scans have been made at various resolutions.

Questions:
What country, what uniform, what regiment, what rank?
Can I have corrections on the pencil texts?

I am taking my chances by putting them into the Canadian section. (expecting to see them relocated if this is not correct)
I am happy to send 600 dpi pictures to interested parties.
Detailed scans available upon request.

I did not put them in the sales section, but these pictures are definitely looking for a new home.

corrections:
myself: 5th CGR - 5th Canadian Garrison Regiment, location: Quebec?
Phillip Herring - Qualicum Beach
Voltigeur: St. John's Camp, Quebec, 45 kms south of Montreal

Picture 1 - Qualicum Beach.
Badge looks like it could be an artillery grenade.

Rhuddlan Castle was probably a day out with another Canadian soldier and two Welsh girls.

Rhuddlan Castle was in Denbighshire, and not too far from Kinmel Park, where some of the Canadians waiting for ships to take them home mutinied.

Qualicum Beach is situated on Vancouver Island's east coast, roughly between Comox and Nanaimo.

In picture #3 "St. Soms" Camp Quebec could be a mispelling of St.John's, a town about 45kms south of Montreal.IIRC the RCR had a company based,in 1914, at the fort and the 22nd Bn. CEF was created there also.

Yes that's IMO St.John's Qc., the pic is dated 5th November 1918...........
a Canadian Garrison Regiment composed of 13 battalions, one for each militia district. They were created in 1918 from soldiers unfit or unsuitable for overseas duty. Militia districts also had depot battalions which were largely training organizations. I don't believe they were reserve units. The term militia, at the time, applied to both part-time and full-time soldiers.
