Default WTF

What on earth has a Pzkw IV got to do with the Wall Street Journal? Are those in a advertising business too clever for their own good? Mike

I'm sure to most members of the general public (many graphic designers included) the tank depicted would not immediately register as 'Panzer'. I would say that most would simply see a generic tank.

The silhouetted Twitter logos issuing from it obviously being a visual interpretation of hostile 'tweets' being fired across a social media 'battlefield'. I shouldn't think the type of tank used was consciously chosen because it was a Panzer IV.

So by way of agreement with you, Mike, I would have to say you are absolutely correct; it does indeed appear to have nothing to do with the WSJ, hence the reason (I assume) they ran it.

Nicely ID'd by the way

JT

Hilarious - for some reason it reminds me of Shepherd Neames better offering (the beer mat, not the beer).

Yes, a brilliant range of ads, but they didn't find favour with some.
