2nd Bn sgts bi-metal glengarry, a well polished and worn example.
Dissasembled view to show unusual construction. Back star of thin guage material die-struck on the arms leaving the centre plain. Scrolls fixed by rivets the upper pair extending beyond the star. Blob of hardened glue under the top left hand scroll, this is to prevent overlay rattling around due to the oversize slots cut out of star. |

Et spelling die no 3.
I am well aware of the BW brass badge controversy, bought this badge 30 odd years ago under Charing Cross arches. Never seen this die struck in WM, it is well made just a small amount of wear I have to say I like it. You can make up your own mind. |

What are your thoughts on why this badge might have been made, if officially and/or who might have worn it?
