Default manchester regt badges

can any one help me with identifing genuine vol cap badge in respect of just what they are made of, ie, bi metal,brass or wm.
I have lots of information about different badges but non on what they are made of.
any help would be gratfully recieved.

Hello Ron,

There is a good on line website on the Manchester Regiment with a lot of badges illustrated but have you been to the Museum of the Manchesters at Ashton,they have a very good display of insignia.

The advantage of a museum collection is that generally the items on display have been donated by former members of the regiment so the possiblity of none genuine items being on display should be remote.

many thanks for that peter, I have made some enquires about badges but they dont have any notes about what the badges are made of, but I will make the effort to pay them a visit very soon.
