Default 2nd CMR B.C.H.

This is a large pattern maple leaf. Much like the Boar War Gen Svc HB. No Maker Mark and it is 2 inches wide. does anyone have any idea just what it is? It does not show in the Pre-14 (Mazeas) book or the CEF Corps (Cross) or 1920-1950 (Mazeas) book.

This is my 2nd Canadian Mounted Rifles, British Columbia Horse and is marked Tiptaft on the reverse.
I've never seen an image of it in wear so my thoughts are as follows:
a. Slouch hat as per CCW.
b. Oversized cap badge made in error.
c. Pouch or crossbelt badge.

Phil

Default 2CMR BCH

Would you say CEF as the unit name 2CMR really only applies to that era

No I wouldn't. I honestly don't know if it is CEF or post 1920 militia.

Please look at this link.

I had seen that badge in my book. It is similar but it is not near the same. Different size plus the naming on the badge is completely different. I like your slouch hat idea.
