Default 1st Cinque Ports RVC grey Officer's home service pattern helmet

Hi All,

I have recently been fortunate enough to obtain this item which arrived today and I need some advice on how best to display it whilst preserving it.

I should add that I live in the Middle East where the internal environment is stable and air conditioned and the outside is often humid and hot (resulting in condensation on windows etc).

My intention is to purchase a round-topped hat stand to maintain shape and place inside an acrylic display case but I'm uncertain whether this would allow the helmet to breathe.

I am also looking for a correct Officer's silver plated spike and a non-attributed tin in case of moving: if anyone can help, I'd be very grateful to hear from you.

Kind Regards,

Pete.
