Walmer hospital
Interesting badge. I assume a service badge.
Silver gilt. 'J R G & S' for gaunt and son 't' for 1918. Also named on rear to nurse it was awarded to. Does anyone have info on these badges? |

Dan, The Walmer Hospital pin has the look of a "service" type award. E.g. a pin to show the owner had served at that hospital for that time period.

Thanks for posting the images of your collection of sweethearts. There are some very nice examples in there.

Thought that I should weigh in and remind all that the 3 was the 144 Battalion and not the 203. Since the cap badge style seems to have generated some discussion I thought that I would add my cap badge style. The green 3 has no maker marks, the white 3 is a CA&S with a 1916 hallmark and the third has only the sterling mark on the reverse.

GA&S mark
I have GA&S Birmingham silver mark done as George Atkins and Son. But I can not see where I got the info from and after a quick web search can find no reference for them.
It is a mark on a lot of cef and british silver sweethearts. Anyone know more than me please. Dan |

I must say, the enamel work and detail to some of those sweetheart pins are awesome. Very well done Redman. I’m still stumbling through photography growing pains, so please excuse the glare. This is a WW2 sweetheart pin from a veteran.
Cheers
