The SF wings were worn by the Jedburgh teams (USA, UK and France) who dropped into France in 1944. Not sure about the difference in size.
The one with the parachute is an RAF Parachute Jump Instructor (PJI). There were two versions, one with a larger parachute I believe came first, then a slightly smaller parachute, still in use. David |

So, are the SAS wings early, mid, or late war period? Are they the Egyptian style?

I can tell you the US wing is not Australian made. S.S Ltd was a British company.
Love the Jingpaw and Kachin patches - well done. Paul |

You could likely get additional feedback regarding the different size Jed wings on the USMF.

Jerry, Trying to research the man. Right now I was mainly trying to locate any photos of him. I was able to find his grave marker in California. I will have to send away for his OSS file and see what that entails.

Hi
My guess is that they are mid war. I have see this pattern wing seen worn by 2ndSAS members.2ndSAS was raised in 1943. Hard to say where made but by the looks of it may be North Africa made? See also this article on a C&T auction which had a similar wing to this 2ndSAS vet Lt James Ricommini. The beret badge in that group is also really nice and also North African made I think. http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-n...shire-41502694 Cheerio JB |
