Default Surgeon Captain Rick Jolly OBE

Not sure if this is the right section to put this but Surgeon Captain Rick Jolly OBE , naval surgeon, commando, author and true gent passed away today.

Anyone who knew him, met him or knew of him will know what a loss his passing is! I met him twice briefly but had had a huge influence on my life and career.

RIP fair winds and safe anchorage Sir!

A very sad loss. His book is a "must read". In the meantime try this:

Default Surgeon Captain Rick Jolly OBE

Very sad news. I had the honour and pleasure of meeting him several times. He was a true gentleman. He was the only man decorated by BOTH sides after the Falklands War. RIP Sir.

Default RIP Sir

Met ‘Doc’ and worked with him on exercise, also have a signed copy of his first book
He was, and remains, the standard for Commando docs
RIP Sir

While the OBE is a fine award it does not reflect the attributes and deeds of Rick Jolly. He was pioneering in many respects, and set a fine standard for others to emulate.

Our thoughts are with his family, I had hoped to meet him last summer when my brother married his niece, but sadly he wasn't well enough to attend the wedding. A great loss.
