Default The first for 2018

The misguided effort that goes into these horrors is astonishing. This sign for marginally less than the £2,300 that an example fetched last year. Scores of new ones from this vendor (but I suppose it's good for Pakistan's economy) Mike

I am afraid his name crops up here on a daily basis in relation to fake cloth badges, particularly Special Forces stuff.

I have a list of regular Dealers I check every day, there is one - 'Military Antiques'.....looking at the details (name, address) they seem to be one and the same, although the stuff appearing on Ebay, doesn't seem to be listed on their sight?
IF they are the same, I need to delete from my lists ASAP!.....never had anything from them.

Speaking of fakes, I was reminded of the old rule about waiting for a bus and then three come along together, or in this case two.

Not at all my area of interest, but I assume the Special Forces experts among the Members will confirm these are both fakes?

See: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRITISH-IV...-/173024144740 from 14 December last year on Ebay , and:

http://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/au...8-a85100a6b2df at Lockdales later this month.

The latter already has four watchers!

Or, are they both originals? I suspect not, but await being advised by those with more experience than me.

Given the sums involved, perhaps I'm in the wrong job!

BB,
i have seen an original of this badge but well out of my price bracket at the time at £700 about 15-20 years ago. From what i recall the badge was jewelers quality (no pits on the surface) and had a flat back to the badge though the badge itself was hollow. Both badges shown lack the jewelry quality finish i would expect from this very very rare badge which i believe was private purchase only and not an official badge though i stand to be corrected here.

Cheers, Dave

Same guy that runs a militaria auction house in Tunbridge wells. Always has a lot of very rare stuff in excellent condition.
