Default Bays osd cap badge (?)

Picked this up this morning, the osd finish is not good and the item is small ( compare to £2 coin ).

Did Bays officers ever wear small osd cap badges like this one ?

Any comments much appreciated.

Thanks

We could do with an expert commenting - but I am pretty sure they did. Sorry to be vague about it, I just can not recall where I came across it.

Default QDG

Hi Peter,
If you visit www.qdg.org.uk and look at the personal diaries and letters section you will see a photograph of a Captain Edward Stone who seems to be wearing a small cap badge similar to the size his collar badges are.
Sorry I could not do a straight link I am on an ipad.
Paul
Sorry you will have to go through history and research from main page.

Default The small Bays OSD Badge

Peter,
Don't have any of them like yours, but here are pics of a genuine fullsized version and also the smaller one (thats one of my hairs and not part of the badge...). Must say that I don't like the one you posted.
Ref : Did they? Yes they did and I have a set of the small bladed cap plus the lugged collars.

Rgds, David

Thanks Mike, Paul and David,

I can now see what it is trying to be an example of.

Hi Peter, I've got one like yours and it came from the CO's bits, I've always assumed they were Indian made. Unfortunately I'm at work at the moment but can take a pic in a couple of days if you want, Mike

Thanks for that Simon,

It is different to the back of David`s example, it will be interesting to see Mikes example.

Hi Peter, just got home and my bladed badge is as David's but one of the collars is cast as yours and another an even worse casting. They all came from a senior officer with WW11 service. Will photo them later in the week, Mike

Hi Peter, sorry for delay, pressure of work, well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. The Gaunt collar and copy are for show and not connected to the other badges, Mike
