It looks very similar to a badge that Rod Flood has just sold.

Default 5th Bn

Hi Phil,
I am not experienced enough to tell you if it is right or wrong but to me it has some of the characteristics of a fake due to the pattern of the ground the horse stands on and the roughness of the horse, I have fell foul to a similar one some time ago.
As I said I may be wrong and I am sure someone will be along soon to put it right either way.
Paul

Here is mine,a good one which has been repainted at some point but if you look at the ground you may get an idea what I mean.

I've been studying King's badges for a while and I've found four different types of the 1908 5th Bn cap badge - all probably maker's variations. Slop Jockey's is certainly one of them.

Phil
I can't use the search command on my mobile but if you do a search I'm sure the bm version of this has been discussed.

Hi Phil,
I think you will be ok for a refund as you got it from a dealer who is usually on the ball. Here is an image of a fake that done the rounds and crossed my path and has probably changed colour a couple of times. It is probably good to keep an image of bad ones for future reference.
