Default 6th Inniskilling Dragoons WM

Always very wary of these WM badges. Opinions welcome.

Hello

So am I, so much so I have not found one that I would have in my collection.

However, this one you've posted looks quite good, ticks some of the boxes (should it have a Slider, not loops?), but its difficult to be sure as finding a genuine one to compare it with is hard.

Perhaps another member could offer that?

Rob

The reverse suggests to me that this is of quite recent manufacture.

Hello

I have located some reference to this type in L&D Arm Badge Book, they appear to have been manufacture in wm. and Silver both with two loop fixings EW. No reverse view unfortunately.
The wm. Badge 17.6B illustrated on page 72 is very similar to the one posted.
Examples of both are held by the IWM in the D.A. Linaker collection.

With regards to the reverse of this badge, not the best strike admittedly however the loop fixings are spot on IMO 'growing' nicely out of the badge, no massive feet etc.

I'd like to see the badge in the flesh, but it could well be genuine, I'd be interested to hear views from other members.

Rob
