Default Oddity RM badge #1

Belongs to another collector.
The things 'wrong' with this one seem reasonably obvious - anchor chopped off, QVC bolted on (probably at the expenses of GIBRALTAR scroll) and modern globe stuck in place with bluetak.
Two holes to the rear suggest perhaps a multi part badge?

Looking more closely it is the main, centre section I find intriguing.
Doesn't look as if cut from a H/P and similar in size to RMLI Officer's Glengarry badge.
Searched through John's book and other reference stuff trying to match the general pattern of the leaves. Closest I could find was centre section of KC Officer's H/P (composite comparison pic attached). Anchor looks to be in right place (albeit extra rope at the top in Officer's H/P) and leaves/motto look more or less identical.
Thoughts welcomed
Ray
