Default Fake Imperial Service Tablets

Saw these on ebay and think its a good idea for people to take a look and see what they are like as no doubt they will be offered as genuine very soon.

Appear to be a one piece casting including rear fittings with a shoddy pin.

If anyone can attach a photo from ebay it would be good. I dont know how.

Me too, why would you bother, original examples are very common and easy to buy.

They will be resold as original, with a healthy profit for the buyer

I see the item has ended not soon after starting!

Interesting.

I'd feel 'used' if I had bought one!

Fortunately, original examples differ and they are much finer.

Agree with all!

I posted some pics of some "personalised" tablets (one with 3 GS buttons the other with an "ASC" (Alley Sloper's Cavalry) shoulder title added) a while back.

Has anybody seen anything similar?

I was once also told by an antique dealer that he had just sold a SILVER, hallmarked example. Possible, or was he in error?

Indeed, it appears not to have taken very long for these to filter through into the antiques and "collectables" trade, I spotted one being sold in a shop a few days ago, disappointing!

Hi

Still keen to know of anyone has seen any period Imperial Service tablets with additions such as the two I posted pics of. Logic says that if I've got a couple, there must be more out there.

If you look at pics of troops entraining you can easily see the tablets against the dark cloth. I've got an informal postcard of a Scot wearing his tablet on his uniform. If there is interest, I'll post it!
