37th/39th (Duke of Clarences Own ) Lancers
I find Green Grey Acorns album " Badges in Films and Television" both interesting and bringing back memories of nights in front of the box and at the cinema many years ago.
Whilst sorting out some old DVD`s today I came across an Episode of "Rumpole of the Bailey " Series 4 Episode 3 where Rumpole went to Germany to act as the Defending Counsel to a member of the 37th/39th ( Duke of Clarences Own ) Lancers, a cavalry regiment that appeared to be from Scotland, in a Court Martial, the soldier being accused of Murder. Members of the regiment wore a large ( St.Patricks ?) blue hackle in their headdress but the design of the cap badge is rather indistinct in most of the shots of it. Most of the officers appear to have worn Barbour jackets a lot of the time. What a sad lot we are when it comes to looking at uniforms on the television and in films. P.B.

I didn't think an internet search would bring up anything for "37th/39th Lancers " but it did:
