Unknowk WW1 British Cloth Unit Badge/Battle Patch for ID
Can anyone please advise what unit this Unit Badge/Battle Patch relates to please. It measures exactly 2" tall and 2" across. I acquired it along with the WW1 medal ribbons in the picture. It has been worn and there are a few remnants of cotton still attached to the patch. I'm pretty sure it'll be in Waring's pamphlet but I can't locate my copy !
If it helps, it originated in the Oxfordshire/Buckinghamshire area. Thanks in advance It will be offered for sale once identified. PL |

Possibly Wiltshire? Very similar to the maroon Wilts pagri flashes as worn on the FSH.

From 1917, when they joined the 75th Division, the 1/4th Wiltshire Regt wore a red Maltese cross on the back of the jacket just below the collar and as a pagri badge on both sides of the helmet.
