Default N wing intermediate?

Thank you for your input. Your expertise is once again most appreciated. I know RCAF wing badges were manufactured in large number during the war years & may still found in "new old stock" condition but I confess these unissued wings puzzle me a lot, just like this N wing...

Both are New Old Stock. I believe the ebay seller is the son of a tailor who supplied badges to the armed forces during the war

I am pretty sure this seller is a perfect gentleman. If I don't get myself wrong he also listed that wing badge. Incidentally a similar specimen was recently discussed on this forum...
