I was presented with one of these by the Comandant of the Guards Depot in Pirbright when I passed by Depot Instructors course in 1975. In truth I rarly used it and most of my cohort in the battalion never owned one?

I remember the Sergeant i'c the regimental police carried a 'provost' cane which was of very similar design but much larger and heavier. Similar to a pace stick in size?
