Australian Service Medal
I have no idea how or when I came by it, but I have just rediscovered in my militaria a near mint example of the Australian Service Medal 1939-1945 named to V 85080 C.M. HARRIS. I believe that the lack of the letter X after V for Victoria indicates that he was not a volunteer for the 2 AIF, but based on name and number and not being a relative, is there anything else I can find out about the recipient? All guidance gratefully received. Thanks. Mike

Many thanks! 7 minutes to get a comprehensive answer - that has to be a record! If he was CMF and possibly did not serve outside Australia what would his other medal entitlement be? Mike
