Home Guard fakes
All the alleged LDV/HG badges in this lot are aged recent fakes. There was a seller making them, I understand, with a very basic screen printing set, back in around 2010. They're not even the correct HG font or material. They even made it into An Illustrated History of the Home Guard (2011) book as 'second pattern'! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WW2-HOME-...0AAOSwE7JaY11W

The Queen's crown badge seems a giveaway.

HG fakes
Thomas,
The 'QC' is OK on a 2nd Phase Radnor HG badge- actually it should be a Guelphic Crown. Radnor and Buckinghamshire wore their own cap badges as they had no Regular Army, or TA Regt representing their counties, so could not adopt a county badge. Initially the WO had tried to get Hunts to wear the Middx Regt cap badge as many, many moons before there had been a tenuous link between the counties. As for the rest of the badges- total rubbish. Stephen. |

The Radnor HG badge is fake/not original as well. It is a common restrike, along with the Rutland HG, Huntingdonshire HG, Upper Thames Patrol, American Squadron HG, Isle of Man 2nd phase HG and WW1 Derbyshire VTC/HG badges which can commonly be found on evilbay.
