Default Can anyone identify Regiment?

If this chap is who I think he is, then he joined the 17th Royal Warwickshire in 1917. Do the insignia support this?

Any help appreciated, thank you.
Cheers

He is wearing rank badges for what appears to be a Colour or Staff Sgt. I can't see any regtl markings.

He is at least a Sgt and the badge above the stripes may be a trade badge rather than a CSgt's crown. It's too blurred. The tunic is the 1915 pattern

On his lower right arm those are overseas service chevrons (red for service overseas in 1914, blue for subsequent years), the vertical brass badge on his lower left arm is a Wound Stripe

The upward chevrons are overseas service stripes, dating the picture to 1918 earliest. 17th Royal Warwicks did not serve overseas and converted to a Training Reserve Battalion in 1916. He may well have served with 17th Battalion but this picture is not from that period.

Many thanks folks for your excellent and prompt replies.

He's obviously not who I thought he was! Hmmm. Back to the drawing board on his identity then.

Cheers

The badge above his stripes is reminiscent of a Machine Gunner’s skill at arms badge, either MG, HG or LMG encircled by laurels.

I cannot see a badge on his left sleeve so he is not a colour sergeant, thus an appointment badge such as MG does indeed seem favourite.

The jacket is the 1902 pattern with a tailored collar.
