Girl in Liverpool Scottish Uniform

Attached is a photo of a youg lady wearing her boy friends or brothers LIverpool Scottish uniform for the Photo. I also have a photo of a Liverpools Scottish soldier whose wife of girlfriend is wearing a dress of the units ( Forbes ) tartan with cap badge worn as a brooch. I wonder how common this was around WW1 ?
