97th Algonquin Regiment Officer's cap and collars.
A couple of years ago, I was asked to identify some material that an Algonquin officer had accumulated during his service. There was a box of Canadian badges among other material. He had joined the militia circa 1929 and served into the 50's. Recently, I had an opportunity to examine the material again, and this time, I had a camera.
Here are the gems from the accumulation. The collars are the pre-1920 pattern officer's pattern, enamel on frosted silver. The cap is unique in my collecting experience. It is the same pattern as the pre-1920 97th Algonquin Rifles cap badge, but is sterling silver, not frosted silver.
