Default London Regiments' Lineage

the best and most comprehensive linegage of the London raised regts I have come across.

Interesting that it is says that they have drawn heavily on "Historic Record of the London Regiment " by Colonel A.R. Martin.

Many Thanks for that, Alan. Having a special interest in the London Scottish, I was puzzled to see that the list states there were 3 battalions in the Great War. Surely this is an error.

Was this in itself not pulled from J.B.M. Fredericks "Lineage Book of the British Land Forces 1660-1978 - Volume I"??

You may well be right, I know that Frederick was first published in 1969 but I don't know when Martin was first published, my Second ( revised ) edition is undated but I bought it longer ago than I care to think about.
