Default Artillery slip-on colours

During the Second World War, RCA regiments adopted the shoulder strap slip-on tapes as unit identifiers. They are found in black and medium blue, but not all regiments had both colours. Both colours were authorized, and were not a "mistake". The explanation for both colours has not been found. Post war the RCA titles were made on royal blue melton, not black. (The shade of post war royal blue is so dark it appears to be black.)
