Default shut down (completed)

Hopefully I'll be updating the forum software late tonight UK time which will mean a shut down for a short time. Nothing will change on the front end, it's security patches and updating to match potential server php upgrades, so we can keep on truckin'.

A meeting of Forum members this morning for coffee and a chat made the Liverpool Fair much more enjoyable than it would otherwise have been.

I think the Forum has a greater impact on the world of militaria collecting than many people think.

Once again thanks to Mike for providing this great resource.

A meeting of members here in NI would be great. Be nice to see some faces to put to the names.

Smile Thanks

I went to Thetford this morning and met Phil, Garry and Steve at his usual post of Ghurka Trust.

Thanks Mike for a great idea in badge collecting, without this forum we would have been ships in the night . . !

My thanks also Mike. Without this forum I would not have learned as much as I have from the enormous wealth of knowledge of the other members. A truly excellent resource. And my thanks also to those who provided the information.

Cheers
Chris

Default Great Forum

As a lapsed collector the forum has been great and saved me a great deal of money now that I have started the slippery slope again.

But to be frank the fact that "suppliers" have been recommended both by the forum and by members is real reassurance in that what you are buying is the real deal.. I have seen a few postings concerning restrikes and down right fakes and personally I believe that in selling fake badges the crime is the same as trying to sale fake painting , its just the scale of monies involved !!

But given the standing of the Forum has anyone considered a supplier " Star Rating" with 1-5 and the no of years so that buyers can see who are the good guys, clearly no one wants to see libel cases but its worked with stamps and with the British blades forum where anyone breaking the rules or tries to con is Outed and supplier status reduced or removed.

Just my ramblings either way I'm glad the forum is here
regards
Steve
