Default Die-cast badge

I recently bought three badges from someone in Scotland, this one, The Glasgow Highlanders, HLI with a KC was one of them.

When I examined it, it appeared to be diecast with copper loops.

Sorry about the pictures, I guess I'm still learning, any ideas as to whether these badges were ever produced by die casting?
