Earl of Ulsters 97th
Appreciate your opinions if this is a genuine one. Had it for some 10 years, lots of polish on it and rubbed shiny in places[I know that means nothing].Where the 97 numbers are attached it seems quite narrow,as oppossed to the many fakes on ebay.Any thoughts as to value if genuine[not selling it though!]

Not happy about the "footed lugs" bobblehat. Are they brass or copper ? and have you the weight (in grams) please ? Regards Jeff

There is also another thread on the PTT Glengarries that you may want to have a look at. Good luck in tracking down a good one. Rgds, David |

Many thanks
Many thanks gentlemen for your input. The lugs are copper, not brass and the weight is apprx 17 grams though on not very accurate scales. Appreciate that having it in the hand and getting a feel of the badge is the best way -alas I am not skilled enough in making the assessment this way.
Thanks once again for your time and knowledge. |

I will stick my neck on the block and say it is a re-lugged original. But get a second opinion. Regards Jeff
PS: The die-flaw with the R's is a well known fault on some examples. Last edited by Jeff Mc William; 16-07-12 at 04:10 PM. |

Here's the one I picked up in England about five or six years ago, that was posted on here before. I think we all concluded mine was a repro. It weighs 28 grams and has copper lugs. Sorry, it's a scan so the pics are not too sharp.

Yes David, at 28g this would be a die-cast repro. Regards Jeff
