Default MALAYAN SAS BERET ..BRITISH OR RHODESIAN?

Got this today but trying to understand if its a British SAS Issued beret to a Rhodesian, in or just after the Malay conflict..so is the badge a Rhodesian pattern.... notice how the slider behind the badge has some badge fasteners stuck in the leather.I cant make out any markings or stamps

Default Nice find mate

Sorry I can't help you with ID.
I'd have thought British had you not suggested Rhodie mate.
If you look at moving it along.....
All the best

Nice beret but nothing about the badge looks specifically Rhodesian to me.

All the best,

Graham

A picture of the distinct Rhodesian made beret badge. Note that the stitching on the WHO DARES WINS scroll behind the letters goes horizontal rather than vertical. The grey gauze backing on the reverse of this badge is also a good indicator.

British mid sixties I would say. I have a sixty eight marked beret with a vinyl sweatband with the same colour lining. It also has a 1944 patten badge like this one.

Default Beret

Friends,

That is a British beret, not Rhodie.

Any markings in the liner? Have you tried the wet test? I mean, if you wet the lining, any beret markings come out more clearly.

Cheers,

Johan

Hi Chaps

The liner looks like an SAS Kangol beret.

you could have offered it here, and mentioned in your first post that you were going to sell it as per the Forum rules.
