Default Wound Stripes Opinions Please ??

Picked these up recently with other items that were all fine, but I`ve never seen a wound stripe with folding rear blades before, they appear to have age, but are they right ?? Excuse the first picture, I couldn`t turn it around.

Question Wound stripes

Were brass wound stripes issued during WWII?

The question is related specifically to the Wound Stripes and not the Service Chevrons.

Wound Stripes were indeed issued in metal in WW2 and were shorter than those in WW1.

Default WW1 wound stripes

Hi
this a photo of 3 wound stripes on a WW1 Australian tunic ( original from family) note the bladed stripe as well as the standard pin back type these measure 5cm in length . Notice the blades are rounded on mine and yours are tapered.

Check your measurement

Default Wound stripes

Simon,

Many thanks for you information on wound stripes, I did not realise this practice carried on to the second world war.
