Default Completion of Part 1 - Officers Full Dress Insignia 1881-90

I hope that forum members will indulge my drawing their attention to the completion of the main part of the recent project undertaken by forum member theironduke1, and myself, at the former's free website, uniformology.com: http://www.uniformology.com/INSIGNIA-00.html

This seven-page series has been a labour of love for both of us, although I would like to pay tribute to Bruce Basset-Powell for his artistic flair, skill with software and generosity in making this useful historical resource freely available to all with access to the internet. I don't think that even the National Army Museum has anything like it. In the process of creating it we have had to contact regimental museums, and long standing collectors, in order to gain photographs of especially rare individual pieces of insignia, so this has been a real joint effort in which several forum members here have participated.

We are now about to launch Part 2, which will cover the Foot Guards and those changes to Line Infantry that occurred between 1890 and 1902. We also hope to add the departmental corps in due course. At the end we will be acknowledging the assistance of the several individuals and institutions that have provided such generous assistance both, so that no individual piece was missed, and so that we can be confident that we have achieved 100% accuracy.
