Default badge on bugle

Hello,
The closest I can come up with is reference from John Gaylor's book
SONS OF JOHN COMPANY on page 307 is a badge from The Special Service Group. The badge is the same as the one one the bugle minus the "1916).
It is also the badge used at present by the "19th Battalion Baloch Regiment.
There seems to be a gap in information from 1916 to the late 1950's.
Hope this is of help to you. Maybe some one can add more info for you.
