Started to be worn in 1948 and ended c1954. No idea about the maker.

Is "officers" a typo, or is this an officers rather than an ORs beret badge please?

Not a typo, but may be inaccurate. The badge came from a former RA Officer's house clearance together with a similar badge but QC and "gilt", brass RHA titles and some ball buttons and some RA Capt's rank slip ons (embroidered on OG). So I'm guessing. Mike

If the wheel is mounted then it is an officers badge. However the same dates apply to the Other Ranks badge.

Why would it have a slider and lugs?

To stop it getting broken in a cam net. I had to buy a gilt QC version when I was commissioned but never wore it as the wire version was de rigeur.

In 95 Cdo Lt Regt RA 1965-67 this was worn by junior officers whenever the Adjutant wasn't looking. Save the wire embroidered badge for "best". Mike
