CEF: NBMGD metal badge
Hello,
I recently found in family memorabilia a metal badge in red and gold/bronze?. The letters are N.B.M.G.D. in gold/bronze with a red background, and below it the letters C.E.F. in the gold/bronze colour of the badge. It's about 4 cm wide. I think it belonged to an uncle who fought in World War One. Can anyone identify it for me please. Is it for a cap, a shoulder or shirt badge, or . . .? I vaguely remember seeing one many years ago with a line reading CANADA at the bottom, but this does not have that. That's about all I can say. Thanks to anyone interested enough to respond. |

Not my area of expertise but could be New Brunswick Machine Gun Draft. Sure a more knowledgeable member will know for sure. A picture would also help.
Regards Simon. |

Previous NBMGD thread
This thread from several years ago has a couple of good illustrations.
http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...ighlight=NBMGD The $35 officer shoulder title referred to in that thread was one I purchased for Ron Edwards (Powell River and Merritt). Ron passed away three years ago in Merritt. He had planned to publish a book on Canadian Machine Gun history but I don't know if he did so. Ron was a very knowledgeable and helpful fellow. Stu |
