Hi all. There are one or two R.N.D.cap badges on ebay just about to finish complete with Gaunt plaques. I would have liked to have submitted a bid but i can't forget the dealer a few years ago at the London arms and armour fair who had a tray of what he said were genuine Gaunt plaques on his table for £5 each. Genuine or not they looked good.Since then i have always viewed these badges with suspicion. Anybody else come across these plaques? Kitchener.

My father was a dealer in the early 80's, and confirms there were "Original" plaques for sale way back then. Literally by the thousand. He has told me the name of the dealer, but as far as I know, he is no longer around. I think without doubt, they were used extensively.

Interestingly, I am told by someone else documenting the NAM Gaunt collection being gradually sold off, that a very small proportion have plaques. I can't comment on whether this specifically applies to RND, but it's certainly worth thinking about.
