Warwickshire Helmet Plate (?) - What should I do?
I damaged this badge/plate over the weekend - forgot to take it out from my make-up bag and it went to the washing machine....
I would like to have it properly repaired if it is genuine. If it is not, I will do the repair myself. Checked the forum. Mine looks like the one Alan has but his has a slider and in great condition. I got this together with the right facing bronze collar badge for a small sum (30 quid) from a friend's father who has a massive collection of Warwickshire regiment items. Any thoughts welcome. As always thank. |

Looks a bit odd to me, there should be 4 fastening lugs on the back of a genuine one, N-W-E and central, but I can't see any evidence of this having had lugs at all, though maybe it's just the photos?
Other than that it looks ok to me. The problem is that to repair it fully, you'd need lugs fitted and it would probably be easier to just buy a good one from a dealer for about 35 quid. Cheers, Alex |
