Default Real or fake. Rhodesian Airforce WW2?

rhodie front.jpg

Rhodie rear.jpgGuys
posted here, as ive checked on line for WW2 Rhodie RAF insignia and not seen this yet.
Is it real or collectors made item?
If real, scarcity? Cost?
Will place this same message in the some other sections too.
Cheers
Jon

Jon

This badge does not appear in either Owen,Radford or Wall.

I have never seen the title combined like this. However, I am not strong on air

insignia. The construction of it suggests to me the 1950s.

See if Chingola can help you.

Cheers

Dave

This appears to be an RAF nationality title from WW2. I have ones exactly like this but with New Zealand instead of Rhodesia on it. Worn by airman serving in NZ sqns of RAF, so yours may be from someone who was in 44, 237 or 266 Sqn RAF. Nationality titles were often made separately to wear above the "eagle-tross" badge but as an economy measure some were made as one patch with nationality and bird all in one patch.
