Cheeky sod, you’ll be telling me next it’s a collar badge. Wish I’d done some proper research first..

Glamorgan Rifle Volunteers
Gentlemen, this seems to be the thread to post this, I recently saw this on internet, a photo dated 1873 taken in Swansea, I assume it is 3rd or 4th Glamorgan RVs, part of 1st Admin. Battn. Does anyone have this badge and can they say exactly who wore it, with thanks in anticipation

Not one that readily springs to mind at that size, but I’ll see if I have anything on it.

I’ve checked my notes and I’m afraid I have nothing on this. If you are able to provide a full copy scan of the card & preferably the details of the location of the photographer, this may help in tying down a locality, if there is anything other than Swansea of course.
From 1859 there were 19 corps in the Glamorgan volunteer force. There is of course the distinct possibility that it may be nothing whatsoever to do with Glamorgan. Last edited by 41st; 18-04-24 at 07:03 AM. |
