Default Jewish Chaplain Canadian Army

During the SWW there were [Uonly seven[/U] Jewish faith chaplains for the Canadian army. They were under the administrative control of the Principal Chaplain (P). With such small numbers, the Jewish chaplains likely procured their insignia from English makers.

Additional information.
The Chaplain Service (Jewish Faith) had thier badges approved under the authority of GO 105/1941. The badges acquired were the British pattern Jewish chaplain badge.

Although a little off topic, the RCAF had, I think it was six Jewish Chaplains in WW2 (it might have been five), with only one serving overseas as far as I'm aware, the Re. Eisen.

I have seen three different designs of RCAF Jewish Chaplain collar badge, two as collars and one with a pin back broach fitting. Of the former, both are in my collection, one with an English makers mark, the other with a Canadian. Both came from the same source, a yard/estate sale in the US.

Interesting. What were the maker marks on the collar badges?
