Could possibly be contemporary, but it's a poor representation of the actual design which I doubt would have passed muster in Bari. Given the number of very bossy instructions issued by HQ LFA that all subordinate units must wear the sign, it is likely that specimens may have been made up locally ie in Jugoslavia, Montenegro etc. Personally I would wait for a better looking example of this sign. The example in the IWM is more acceptable.

My thoughts too. I recently passed on a pair in a deal that were more like the IWM example. No backing is strange, even for an inexperienced tailor.

I have had poor dealings with the seller once before.

Lovely printed example. I have seen printed on blue, woven on black and blue, and bullion on black. Any ideas as to why the difference of black and blue?

Anecdotal evidence states that blue and white were chosen as being the colours of Brig GMO Davy's regiment (3rd Hussars?). But perhaps black material was easier to come by?

Default HQ LFA

It took a bit of finding and the detail isn't good, but it shows the sign of LFA being worn. This was taken in the HQ in Bari:
