Default Raiding Support Regiment badge

Goodday lads,

I just got this RSR badge and I can not see anything wrong with it, so I think it is an original one. It cleary has seen the war Any more comments on this one?

Cheers

JB

For comparison, this is Lt Col Sir Thomas Devitt's own badge (on loan to me in 1987):

hi JB,

Well done! Looks definitely authentic to me. Did not come cheap, I assume.

I think you could restore it a bit by loosely adding some old back cloth (beret badge rear cloth) to the rear of the badge, which would mask the moth holes.
Alternatively, you can display it on black cloth.

Cheers,

Johan

Looks good to me, well done JB! Has some mileage on it, which only adds to its appeal IMO. Regards, Donovan

Hi JB,

Well done, a nice well used example, but those are often the ones that really 'feel' like history in the hand. Another fine addition to you collection my friend.

All the best,

Roy

What a terrible tatty badge, send it to me and I will make sure that a bright new clean badge replaces it!

Hi Marc,

I did not know you were specialized in face lifts.

Agree my example was probably not worn with walking out BD.

Hi Jonathan.

A very fine example, thanks for sharing.I have seen various original patterns which differ in detail. Eg in IWM there are some displayed. Jack Dutton Roberts also sold an orginal one a few years ago. This looks like officers quality like the one of Sir Thomas Devitt.

Cheers
JB
