RM / Commando cash tapes
I am sure that a couple of years or so ago someone put into a thread the size of lettering which denoted WWII against post WWII cash tapes .... but I am blowed if I can find it
In the below picture of 2 ROYAL MARINES cash tapes the top one has intermittent red embroidery to the rear and the bottom one basically solid red. The letters of the top one are appx 6/16th of inch tall and on the bottom one appx 5/16th of an inch. Would I be right in thinking the top one is possibly WWII & the bottom one post war (or even a total fake)? Aye Yours Ray |

I read that thread and it was on the width of the band the narrower band is post war which makes your top one ww2 5/8th inch wide.Roger
