Default Mystery coronet badge

Morning gents

This recently arrived in a lot of badges, I think a similar badge was shown in the last year or so, but for the life of me I cannot find the thread. As can be seen it is in the form of a castellated coronet in GM, 35 mm at it’s widest by 24 mm high, with the lugs being unusual in that they are circles of wire brazed onto the body of the badge where the ends join. This type of lug definitely rings a bell - New Zealand? South African? - but again the memory is tenuous at best.

As always any help will be gratefully received

Graham

Hi Graham,

I have in the back of my mind that this badge may have a connection to the City of Durban, possibly Municipal Police? Can't be more specific than that.

Best wishes, Dave Wilkinson.

Thanks Dave, much appreciated. The Durban Police badges posted on here certainly use a similar coronet, and it's possible it evolved over the years.

Best

Graham

I believe this is Italian.
