grenade badges difference
Can anyone kindly explain/illustrate the difference, if any, between RA officers puggaree badge (as illustrated in 1900 Dress Regs)and Grenadier Guards ORs cap badge

By the photo in the dress regs, there is no apparent difference. I have never seen a photo of that badge in wear on an Artillery FSH of the period, and it should be realized that whilst the badge may have been prescribed, it does not mean it was actually worn. So many "Pagri" badges were either prescribed or proposed for the Army at that time period, but what ended up being worn in the field was something entirely different, often cloth flashes instead of metal badges, or a combination of the two.

Interesting - I know some officers would have badges privately made. There are certainly a few Irish Guards Pagri badges out there that aren't in KK guides.
