Hello
Hello, although i have been registered on the site for awhile, i havent really used it,mainly because i dont know a lot about militaria and found it confusing trying to find out what badges i have in my possession .
Really i am looking to identify my badges which were left to me about 30 years ago. im sure there are a lot of shoulder and belt badges amongst the obvious cap badges. Could anybody help me out with identification , idid try an online cap badge service but didnt recieve any info so gave up and left the badges in the atic until now. i have tried the individual searches but although some of them give the name of the regiment i cant seem to find the ones that are identical to the ones i have. different crowns or something not quite the same. any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you . |

Hi paulpaulpaul, Welcome to the Forum.
If you post some images I am sure you will have lots of assistance identifying the badges that you have. If these are identifications for sales purposes please indicate that in your posts.

As a Newbie myself I probably wont be able to give much information regards to dates and types. I may be able to identify which unit they belong to however. Regards Mike. |

Hi Paul
Welcome to the forum, if you can (and I cant...yet) post some photos to the forum and some one will be able to identify them for you but I really do recomend that you get a couple of good reference books to help you out. There are things to look out for like the shape of the crown which will indicate who was on the throne (assuming that they are British or Commonwealth), the presance of either lugs (ie little loops ) on the back of the badge or a slider. Cap badges are usually about 50mm in height where as collar badges will be about 30mm high and have lugs. I hope that this will help you a bit. Regards Phil. Down under. |
