U.S. holsters
Picked these up today, the one marked U.S. looks to be older? Maybe just had a tougher life. Really dried out, just putting a second coat of Pecards conditioner on it. Any ideas on the nationality of the other one. By the indentations in the leather a revolver has spent many years in there. Thx Brian

Hi Brian,
I'm no expert on these but think it could be US for one of the WWII revolvers like the Colt Commando or S&W Victory. It could also be Canadian police, circa 1950's? All the best, Roy.

I think the first one is for the M1911/a1 ACP 45 and you may or may not find marking stamped into the leather for maker/date

I know this is a badge forum, but many of us also have other military related interests and I do enjoy reading gun related posts like this interesting one. Thanks for posting it.

Thanks for the replies. Cannot find any markings on either one other than the U.S. Cheers Brian

If any manufacturers stamps remain on the M1916 holster (holster on the left) they would be right below where the wire hanger once was. Somewhere between the 2 slits for a belt, near the top.
