Hi Guys,

I got this badge at the weekend and am looking for opinions.

I am aware of the Bulgarian copies of this badge. It feels good, hasn't got the thud of a cast badge when dropped and the lugs are a decent quality. The stamp is very clear too.

Any thoughts?

Thanks, Bill

The badge looks alright to me from the pictures but you would have a better idea from the feel of it.

I have one that came from Bulgaria before the plethora of them began appearing on eBay. My concern was not that it was heavy and cast looking but that it seemed much lighter than the ones I considered to be good. It weighed in at only about 14 grams compared to about 24 grams for my "good" ones. At that time no one seemed to be aware of dodgy ones on the market.

If you do a "16th Cameron Highlanders" Forum search you will find that there are several threads where this badge has been discussed.

Hi Donny,

Many thanks for your opinion. The badge does look and, more importantly, feel OK. I don't have precision scales so not sure of the weight of the badge.

I've looked through the threads about this badge and they all seem to be of inferior quality to this one.

Thanks again for the comment,

Regards, Bill
