Re: The South Wales Borderers Comrades Club
I just recently acquired the South Wales Borderers Comrades Club from an auction on e-bay and thought I should show this rare lapel badge.
The South Wales Borderers Comrades Club which was formed on Rorke’s Drift Day (23rd/24th January) 1909 at Oudenarde Barracks, Aldershot. Anymore information regarding the comrades club would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! How rare is this badge? Regards, TheBreaker02. Last edited by Breaker02; 19-04-14 at 03:41 PM. |

I would have thought it was quite rare although the rarity "level" would depend on whether it was only given/sold to ex-soldiers who were there or given/sold to any member of the regiment who wanted one at the time. Still a nice badge to anyone collecting items relating to the SWB - which I assume is why you are asking about its rarity...

My Grandfather was SWB 1907-1919 and I amongst the material of his that I have is an identical Old Comrades lapel badge. Also a similar design but slightly smaller and reading "Regimental Association" around the circlet.

Re: The South Wales Borderers Comrades Club Lapel Badge
Hello Tim,
Thank you for sharing these photographs of your Grandfather's Great War trio and his assorted lapel badges. A very nice collection indeed, and also the different South Wales Borderers association lapel's. Many thanks for taking the time and effort to show them. Best regards, TheBreaker02 Live every day as if it were going to be your last; for one day you're sure to be right. Last edited by Breaker02; 22-04-14 at 07:09 PM. |
