Yep, most QVR stuff is reasonably hard to find. I picked this up from Alan on the forum. It is tiny, but quite well made

Greetings Lads & Lasses,

At the start of this fascinating thread I felt a little 'inspired' to keep my eyes pealed for more KSLI sweetheart badges and so this little beauty turned up in the mail yesterday (see attached). I always find it fascinating how discussing a certain topic can 'peek' ones interest..

It is nothing too flash and certainly not as beautiful as some of the examples shown but as it was this thread that prompted me to purchase it, I thought I would share it here. It cleaned up rather well too.

In the style of the regiments cap bade and with the lettering in red, white and blue. Marked 'sterling to the rear and also 'TLM' which I believe is for Thomas Lynton Mott (Birmingham). The style of the mark was used between 1918 and 1932, so dates it quite nicely.

Getting off the Music topic & back to Sweethearts ---- I have posted a few of my RCN Sweethearts, & these are actually hearts.

I have about a dozen examples of hearts & sometimes am fortunate enough to have the photos still inside the lockets. The heart lockets were quite common in our Navy during the war.

One is made of Lucite, & these only have the crest on the front, no inscription on the reverse.

Charlie, you may be able to see how the heart lockets are marked STERLING inside the frame of the heart.

I have taken a few more shots of marking on some of my sweethearts & will post in the topic you started on markings...

Much appreciated. I must say that I find myself envious of your hearts collection. Some very attractive pieces there.....even nicer that some stil have the original photographs.

Another 9ct and silver brooch by Brewis and Co London 1939.
Unusual for the badge to have scrolls at this late date.

Another one this time all silver by James Clark & John Sewell Birm 1913. Also bearing retailers stamp QMS = Quartermasters Stores Aldershot. Typical Victorian style bar brooch with flowers leaves and foilage, interestingly the badge has an Empress of India style Crown made originally for the 1st Bn India 1890s, revived again as the 1st Bn arrived in Aldershot 1913.
